Neighborhood Planning 
The Planning Division supports community groups,
business associations, and civic associations in all of Hartford's seventeen
neighborhoods.

Geographic Information Systems & Mapping
The Planning Division chairs the GIS Council of the City of Hartford. Any
questions concerning the availability of GIS information should be directed to

Historic Preservation
The Planning Division plays a key role in regulating and managing Hartford's
national, state, and locally-designated historic properties, which number more
than 4,000.

Zoning 
The goal of the Zoning Program is to examine plans and
permit applications for the issuance of permits, and to ensure that projects are
carried out in accordance with approved plans. The purpose of Hartford's zoning
regulations is to provide for our citizens' public health, safety and welfare,
and to help the city achieve its community development goals.
